Pancakes

Lena had her first pancake this morning- with bananas and raspberries. Dada made it in the shape of an "L". She loved it, especially when I dipped it in maple syrup.

Mmmm

"Would you like some?"

"I think I like this..."

"Forget those little pieces. I want the big one!"

9 Months

Lena is now 9 months old! I really can't believe it. I love that she's growing as a little girl, but I miss that little tiny baby. She's changing so much. She is now standing on her own- no hands, Ma! One of these days, she'll take that first step. She's also "talking"- with inflections and facial expressions. I know she's trying to tell me something. Now she's saying Dada, Daddy, doggy, and baby. It's so cute in that little squeaky Lena-voice. She had her 9-month check-up on Friday. She's 70% for height and 15% for weight- tall and thin! The doctor was very impressed with her, especially the standing.

My, what big eyes she has!

"Give me the camera!"

"I'm gonna reprogram this thing."

She's looking more like a kid...

This is her new thing. She crawls around with a toy hanging from her mouth. She does it in the bathtub too, with her foam letters. It just sticks out while she plays with other letters.

More Eating

Miss Lena has decided that she no longer wants us to feed her. She refuses to eat her veggies and fruits if they are served pureed, and by me. The only thing I am allowed to give her is cereal and yogurt- I'm sticking to my guns on that one- it would be very messy otherwise. Also, her milk shall only be taken if she is sitting next to me, on the couch, not in my lap. No more "baby" feeding for her!

She loves sweet potatoes and peas. Yes, a lot end up in her lap, but I just keep picking them up and putting them on her tray. Most of the food eventually makes its way into her mouth.

I usually don't do the "messy face" pictures, but she looked so funny I had to do it. This is the last time she had pureed food....sigh...my baby is getting bigger...

She's Just a Special Girl

Lena is learning how to feed herself. She loves the banana puffs and gets so excited when they're for dessert.

She takes the puff from my hand...

She puts her whole hand in her mouth...

The puffs goes in!
We decided to have some fun with the camera. I just like these pix.

She loves to be upside-down.

Don't you just love her?

Trouble

Lena is too smart for her own good. She is determined to get everything in her reach, and just outside of her reach. This spells T-R-O-U-B-L-E, thank you very much. Little Miss-Chevious gets a kick out of being bad, and laughs like crazy when you say "NO". She has a fit of giggles, which only makes me laugh. I have to turn my head away so she can't see me laughing.

"Come play with me!!!"
(I got to work from home today, and she just wouldn't leave me alone.)

"Mom, this is what I think of you working!!"
(That's my work laptop bag.)

"I got your childproofing gizmo right here!"
(She removed the childproofing door-lock and decided to taste it. So much for safety.)

"I really love unwinding TP! Am I in trouble now?"

"Playing in ANY water is fun."
(The dog bowls are her constant this-is-not-a-toy toy.)

Mary Comes to Visit

Mama's best friend from high school, Mary, came to visit this weekend. Lena had a great time getting to know Mary, who in my opinion, is the baby-whisperer. She understands kids like nobody's business, and will be an AWESOME mom one day. But, I digress...Anyway, Mary speaks baby-language and Lena was cracking up the whole weekend.

I know Lena looks like she's scared, but she's in the middle of one of her crazy episodes. She likes to bounce up-and-down on your lap, like it's going out of style. She really is screaming because she's happy.

Mary brought presents, wrapped in tissue paper. This always makes a happy baby.
