July 4th Weekend Part 2

Lena is learning how to drive.

July 4th Weekend Part 1

We went out to the mountains to visit with our friends Christine, John and Emma. While there, we went out on the boat on Lake Chortuge. This was Lena's first time in a boat and her first time swimming. She LOVED the boat. The faster we went, the bigger she smiled. She loved the water too. She hung out in a float and rode the waves up and down. She even kicked her legs to get to us- like a little fish! Lena has informed us that she wants a boat for her 1st birthday.

Crawling

Lena started to crawl last week. At first, she would take 2 or 3 "steps". She's been practising a lot, and is moving quite well now. She loves being able to get to her toys.

Water Fun

Since Lena can now sit on her own, and the weather is hot, we decided to try out the Splish-Splash play mat. Lena loves the water and kept trying to grab it. She also kept getting it in her face and laughing. I wish we had an adult-sized one.

Father's Day

We had a really nice Father's Day. Lena gave Seth outdoor speakers, so we had some friends over and partied. Lena was dressed up in her red-and-white gingham. Of course, we had to take pictures!

Dancing and Playing

We were listening to '40s music, and Seth felt like dancing. Lena had a great time jiving.

We got Lena a xylophone/piano because she loves noise. When I took out the camera, she started posing with the keys.

Having Fun With New Toys!

Lena has recently acquired some "new" toys, due to her generous Cousin Edy. She has a walker and bouncy play station. Both are pink and loaded with toys.

"I'm so happy in my play station!"

So many toys!

Lena moves backward in her walker. She kept bumping into the oven, and found another baby looking back at her. She reached out to her, trying to figure it out. I wish I could have gotten a picture of it, but she kept looking at me.

Cousin Edy is showing Lena how to play.

Lena borrowed Edy's swing. Can you tell that she loves it? Dada and I are going to get Lena her own swing today.
